Planning a Wedding during a Pandemic?

If you’re a bride- or groom-to-be with a wedding coming up in the next several months or even next year, you might be wondering how on earth you’re going to pull off the planning process when you’re incapable of meeting with potential (as well as already booked) vendors?

Virtual meetings are where it is at right now. I have booked several weddings for next year by phone or video chat. We have discussed meeting in person later to go through the fine details and so they can see my album samples and products that they can choose from. I believe communication is important now and we really all do have just a little more time than usual to make the accommodations.

If you are just starting out planning your wedding, you might be worried that because of all the rescheduling from this year your special date has already been taking. It’s important to act fast if there is a venue you cannot live without. Reach out via email and or phone. Not sure it is the venue you want and want to see more. Some venues are offering a virtual tour.

Wedding Planners, DJ’s, Florists and Caterers all offer consults over the phone. Of course, tasting the food in person may have to wait until later you can still check out reviews and get recommendations from others about what place has served great food.

There are benefits of hiring a wedding planner during this time as well. Most have special relationships with other vendors that you are looking for. They can be a great advocate for you in the planning process.

The best thing to do is not to stress and write out your plan of attack. A list is always a good thing in my opinion. I use lists quite often when trying to tackle many of the things a wedding photographer must get done for each couple.
